🔥 ADVENTURER SPOTLIGHT #24 WITH @ALL_THE_OUTDOOR_THINGS

Adventurer Spotlight 24 - All_the_outdoor_things

Welcome to the Adventurer Spotlight, an interview with a member of our newsletter community about their life with their Subaru. Here, we learn more about the person behind the wheel and get inspired to embark on new adventures.

Before we get to this month’s feature, I’d like to again thank Brandon / @starscream1201 for being in our previous Spotlight! Remember that all Spotlights are available on subieadventures.com, so if you’ve just joined recently, you can read the previous features there.

Now let’s get into it!

INTRODUCTION

My name is Katie and you can find me on Instagram at @all_the_outdoor_things.

WHICH SUBARU DO YOU OWN? WHAT DO YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT IT?

I have a 2023 Outback Wilderness in Magnetite Gray named Mable. What I love most about her is the size and capability...and the leather seats. Whatever they make that material out of is so soft and comfortable...I love it.

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE A SUBARU? HOW MANY HAVE YOU OWNED?

This is my second Subaru. I previously had a 2018 Crosstrek in Cool Gray Khaki that I absolutely loved! We went on many road trips across the country in that car and she was fantastic. The reason I started thinking about switching to the Outback was for a little more space originally and then the Wilderness edition came out and that's what really sold me on upgrading. I love all of the Wilderness features.

HAVE YOU MADE ANY MODIFICATIONS?

So far I have added the Thule crossbars/cargo box and the Roam awning. I did have them install the OEM Subaru hitch when I purchased the car. Hopefully by the end of this year I will be using it to tow a Bean Trailer! Fingers Crossed! That was another plus to upgrading to the Outback, an increase in tow capacity.

WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO ADD TO YOUR SETUP?

I had the Falken Wildpeak ATs on my Crosstrek and they worked out really great so the plan is to upgrade to those as well on the Outback eventually.

FAVORITE ROAD TRIP? OR FAVORITE THING TO DO IN YOUR SUBARU?

I was lucky that not long after I got my Outback I got a contract job in New Mexico so I got to spend the summer exploring the mountains and forest service roads and really testing out all the new features. It was just the perfect summer with my new car.

HAVE A FAVORITE PICTURE OF YOUR CAR?

Typically I love any picture that has my car and my dog in it, lol, but so far my favorite two are from camping trips we've taken to west Texas. One shows my dog Lily in the back on our first road/camping trip in Mable and the other has a beautiful west Texas sunrise reflecting on the side of my car during a camping trip with my oldest childhood friend. Neither image is super high quality but they both capture two really good memories.

WHERE WOULD YOU LIKE TO TRAVEL TO NEXT WITH THE SUBIE?

Next, I would love to spend some time traveling around Utah and have more of an overlanding experience. I'd also really like to meet some more Subaru enthusiasts and do some group camping trips.

WHAT, IF ANYTHING, WOULD YOU DO DIFFERENTLY, OR CHANGE, ABOUT YOUR SUBIE?

I honestly have loved the entire experience with both Subarus I've owned. The only thing I would go back and change is to start driving Subarus sooner!

Thank you, Katie! I appreciate you being in the Spotlight and sharing your Subaru story with us! 🙌
