Adventurer Spotlight #7

Featuring @fozmutoz

Welcome to the Adventurer Spotlight, an interview series with Adventurers from my newsletter about their life with their Subaru. Here, we find out more about the person behind the wheel and get inspired to embark on new adventures.

New Spotlights are posted on a regular basis; follow me on Instagram and subscribe to my free newsletter to stay up-to-date.

Introduction

I’m Mel aka @fozmutoz and I’m a Digital Graphic Designer.

Which Subaru do you own? What do you like most about it?

I currently own a 2009 Forester SH Manual XT Premium. I love that it’s a stick shift turbo model.

Why did you choose a Subaru? How many have you owned?

I chose a Subaru so I could have both form and function. I wanted a car that would be fun yet practical for when starting a family would come into play, which it did. Thus why it’s now a cool mum car “I’m not a regular mum, I’m a cool mum” lol My son loves it cos it’s ‘fast’ and goes ‘broom broom’.

Have you made any modifications?

Quite a few actually. Aesthetically, OEM full body kit (rear under spoiler to come), Billetworkz interior dress up pieces, Damd D shaped steering wheel and of course real carbon fiber pieces. I love my CF!!! Performance wise, the Foz has had a XB (stage 2) tune, vF52 upgrade, Invidia TBE, Process West CAI and GFB short shifter. Current wheel set up is Sparco Terra 16×7 wrapped in Toyo AT and Whiteline 22mm Rear Sway Bar.

Accessories that are almost always on or in the Foz is a Rhino Rack 2.0 awning, awning extensions, maxx traxx minis, Thumper battery and 25L fridge.

What would you like to add to your setup?

A small camper trailer would be awesome.

Favorite road trip? Or favorite thing to do in your Subaru?

When we went camping/off-grid on Eyre Peninsula in South Australia during Winter a few years ago. Loved fishing off the beach and cooking what we caught over a campfire, sipping on a glass of red. Pure bliss!

What’s your favorite picture of your car?

This one of the Foz and I having some fun in the sand!
