šŸ‘‹ Introduction

The toughest question! Professionally speaking Iā€™m a Physician Associate, personally Iā€™m an adventurer. I was raised and reside in upstate New York. I grew up, ā€œin the middle of nowhereā€ building a strong relationship with the great outdoors. My husband and I were both practicing Emergency Medicine when the pandemic first hit, and throughout 2022 each inflicted substantial medical complications with multiple hospitalizations at the hands of covid-19. At present time I am not back to practicing clinically, but as I work toward remission I continue to focus on intentional living and getting outside daily. I rely on our two German Shepherd Dogs, Mosin and Xera, for my drive and inspiration. I share daily photo and video content and have forged many meaningful connections through my stories over on my Instagram @BethanyMeyers.Adventure.

šŸš— Which Subaru do you own? What do you like most about it?

A 2017 Forester. I have to say my favorite thing about it is the way that it has never limited me. There hasnā€™t been a single item I wanted to transport that hasnā€™t fit; or an adventure I couldnā€™t take in it!

Why did you choose a Subaru? How many have you owned?

This Subaru is my first purchased vehicle and I plan to drive it until the wheels fall off!

In true Subaru-owner fashion, I canā€™t explain with a whole lot of logic or reason why I chose Subaru. Of course, it was important to me that I achieved a certain level of ground clearance, gas mileage, etcā€¦as was required to get me through years of PA school, but ultimately, it was the understanding I was met with at Subaru that drove my decision home (literally).

Without batting an eye they understood that my Subaru needed to foster a sense of home for me. They understood that I was serious when I prioritized a large trunk space for future dog crates, a moonroof for camping, a roof rack for kayaks and a future roof tentā€¦etc.

Honestly anywhere my Subaru takes my pack, is my most favorite place to be.

šŸ”§ Have you made any modifications?

Yes! A ā€œseat delete!ā€ I removed all seats except for driver and passenger. I store my extra packs, winter layers, tools, and emergency gear under where the seats were, with my hiking boots, shoes, spikes, and daily gear on top. My dogsā€™ kennels are a permanent fixture in the rear as well as their food and water storage, and Iā€™ve installed a trailer hitch for my Thule cargo box, or ā€œtrunkā€ as I call it. Oh! And in the warmer months, a roof tent lives on top!

āž• What would you like to add to your setup?

Iā€™m currently brainstorming building plans for additional drawers/storage in my back seat space. Iā€™d like to build a better structure for longer camping trips in the coming years!

šŸ—ŗļø Favorite road trip? Or favorite thing to do in your Subaru?

Honestly anywhere my Subaru takes my pack, is my most favorite place to be. I love more than anything that I can load the whole pack in at a momentā€™s notice, and have what we need to stay as long or as little, no matter the conditions or distance. Weā€™ve visited up to the chilly ocean waters in northern Maine, down to the dusty trails of rural Tennessee, and hundreds of highways, backroads, mountains, and towns in between.
